Rage Against The Machine founder and musician Tom Morello will be joining Audacy for our fifth annual I'm Listening special happening on Thursday, September 23 at 6PM on all Audacy stations and in the Audacy app. In this preview, Morello reflects on the making of his latest album, The Atlas Underground Fire, and how he found getting all of his ideas onto tape once again was a form of therapy.
"100 percent... it was exclusively therapeutic," he explains. "More than artistic, it really was a lifeline... a way of hanging on. I've identified as a guitarist and a musician, as an artist since I was a teenager, and I wasn't that anymore. It was like, 'here's a way to be that at least for part of the day."
I’m Listening is a 365-day-a-year initiative that aims to encourage those who are dealing with mental health issues to understand they are not alone, and once a year we pause on every Audacy station across the country to show it's okay not to be OK.
This year's I’m Listening will be hosted by Carson Daly (NBC’s Today show and The Voice) as well as pioneering psychologist and author, Dr. Alfiee M. Breland-Noble (The AAKOMA Project). Our star-studded guest lineup includes conversations with Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Doja Cat, Shakira, Justin Bieber, Cleveland Cavaliers' Kevin Love, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Jack Antonoff, and more.
Audacy's I’m Listening initiative aims to encourage those who are dealing with mental health issues to understand they are not alone.
