RADIO.COM's I’m Listening broadcast is returning on Wednesday, September 23. For a special two hour event filled with artists, athletes and individuals nationwide joining forces to showcase that talk has the power to save lives.
Leading up to this years broadcast, we’re chatting with artists and musicians who share in our goal, that by having healthy conversations around the topic of mental health, both the subject and those who struggle with it, will receive nothing but acceptance and understanding
G-Eazy is just one of the artists who will join us for Wednesday's show, and virtually sat down with RADIO.COM beforehand to reflect on his feelings about 2020, and how this past year has affected him both mentally and emotionally.
First acknowledging that “there’s not one answer to that because it’s day by day,” G shared that while at first, “it was kind of nice for me to be able to stay inside, enjoy my home and enjoy some rest; without the guilt that is usually attached to sleeping in or not getting stuff done.” His mindset has changed throughout the pandemic, and after what feels like the "fifty millionth day of it,” having “the discipline and patience to withstand something that is the most confusing and uncertain and frustrating," for him, "can waiver day to day."
G continued on, disclosing that there are certain days, “when I feel despair, when I feel lost, and you know, I feel hopeless.” However, then there are also those days, he continued, where “I find new ways to find the silver lining in it, and be able to take this time to be able to work on myself and grow from it.”
As G so candidly admitted, this year has been far from an easy one, and dealing with all it has thrown at us is a different experience for everyone. Now more than ever, it is so important for us to have open and honest conversations about mental health and to check-in with one another. In advance of this year's broadcast, we encourage you to share your story about your personal mental health journey, of which we will select a few to be shared as a part of this year's show. In addition, throughout the show, listeners will have a chance to call in and share personal stories, as well as speak to mental health professionals.
Join G-Eazy and an array of guests on Wednesday, September 23, during our special I’m Listening broadcast for an evening filled with conversations, support, compassion, and community - right here and on the RADIO.COM app.
