Leading up to RADIO.COM’s I’m Listening broadcast on Wednesday, September 23, we’re giving you a preview of conversations with artists and professionals on the topic of mental health.
Kicking off at 6PM, the I’m Listening broadcast aims to end the stigma of talking about mental health and ensure that conversations are met with acceptance.
It’s important to be there for others that are going through a tough time and support them unconditionally. At the same time, self-care is essential and is vital in ensuring you’re taking care of yourself.
“It’s a matter of constantly checking in on myself and being honest with myself,” Lily Cornell Silver told RADIO.COM about how she takes care of her mental health.
Part of that is consistently asking yourself questions like, “How am I feeling? What do I need in this moment? You know, the simple have I eaten today? Have I had enough water today? Have I been sitting in front of my computer all day or have I gone outside?”
Cornell Silver admits “It can be exhausting to be constantly checking in with yourself on all the little things.” When it comes to not letting anxiety rule over you or feeling like you’re living life on auto-pilot, she says “that’s what makes the difference.”
Part of the I’m Listening mission is to highlight the idea that you are not alone when it comes to mental health experiences. As part of that mission, we want to hear from you.

RADIO.COM’s I’m Listening initiative aims to encourage those who are dealing with mental health issues to understand they are not alone. If you or anyone you know is struggling with depression or anxiety, know that someone is always there. Additionally, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-800-273-8255.
