Throughout the doc, Selena unflinchingly allowed cameras to follow her into some of her most darkest moments as Selena gives a glimpse into her life, good times, struggles and all.
Using her actual diary entries in the documentary, Selena gets candid about her battle with Lupus and its relapse, bipolar disorder, a psychotic breakdown which made her eventually seek treatment, and her highly publicized relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.
The film starts off in 2016 with Gomez crippled with self-doubt ahead of the opening night show for her Revival Tour, which was eventually cancelled after 55 concerts due to Sel's mental health. Jumping to 2019, as well as after the COVID-19 pandemic, the intimate documentary spans Selena’s six-year journey into a new light.
