Thursday, May 20, marks the first Mental Health Action Day— a day where many will be able to identify their needs and gain resources to see where they can get support and help those needs.

Singer JoJo expressed, "I wholeheartedly believe every person on this planet deserves to experience mental wellness" and mentioned her participation in today's event.

Alanis Morisesette is taking the day to help through song. Her new song, "Rest," as she states, was "written specifically about those of us who struggle with depression and anxiety, isolation, suicidal ideation and the profound despair that mental illness can plunge us into."

US Secretary of Labor, Marty Walsh addressed his issues with alcoholism and tweeted, "the pandemic has made things tough for a lot of people, & there should be no stigma around asking for help."

Other state Representatives and such have expressed that today we should "break through stigma, express compassion" and embrace the differences in how individuals manage their mental health. For all resources and more information on Mental Health Action Day, find everything you need here.
