Over the weekend, thousands walked across the stage in Denton after earning their degrees from the University of North Texas.
One of them was a woman named Minnie Payne, who earned her master's degree in interdisciplinary studies while making a little bit of history along the way.
At 90-years-old, Payne became the oldest person to ever earn their master's degree from a university!
Payne earned this degree 73 years after graduating from high school. She told CBS News, "I always wanted to improve myself. When I retired at age 68, I wasn't doing anything constructive, and it's my philosophy to constantly be doing something constructive."
Payne, who was accompanied on stage by her grandson, says she plans to put her degree to good use. "Now that I've accomplished it, it seems sort of surreal," she said.
Payne recently got a job at a magazine in Houston and has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. "It's my intention to continue working as long as I am physically and mentally able to do it," she said.
