A couple of month ago, it was announced that a new comic book slated for release soon would pit Godzilla against the entire state of Texas.
The book was literally titled Godzilla vs. Texas.
Now, the day of that book’s release has finally come.
Godzilla vs. Texas releases into stores today. According to WFAA, the 48-page comic is divided into four different writer-artists' interpretations of “Godzilla wreaking havoc across the Lone Star State.”
The book is just part of a series Godzilla vs. America. The series has Godzilla facing a variety of cities, including Chicago, Boston, and Los Angeles, but this is the first time Godzilla has taken on an entire state.
One of the writers Matt Frank, who has written Godzilla comics for more than 15 years, said, “Unlike a lot of other states, Texas has a lot of really big cities, but no one city really represents the state.
"I think Texas has a unified identity that a lot of other states don't. Plus, it's just a great title.
