Aggressive, feral peacocks are wreaking havoc on a Houston Neighborhood

Residents of a neighborhood in Houston, TX are being warned to keep an eye out for some pretty nefarious characters roaming down their streets.

And if spotted, they're advised to keep clear and call animal control.

Residents of the Heathwood neighborhood have had to deal with a surge of feral and aggressive peacocks as of late.  While the animals have been around the area for decades, their numbers have grown recently prompting a number of incidents with the neighborhood's residents.

Neighborhood resident, Kellie Donoghue, told The Houston Chronicle, "I saw seven of them smashing into a car the other day.  They tear up roofs and break windows. Once they even chased a group of kids."

Donoghue added that the birds, accurate referred to as "peafowls," also hide in trees and atop homes, screeching all the while.

The peafowls are said to be more aggressive due to Houston's climate allowing a never-ending mating season, leading to birds attacking their reflections in vehicles and windows.
