Paying for college can be difficult for many students, but luckily for those in DFW Amazon is here to help. The company recently announced a plan to increase the education levels of its workforce by offering free tuition at 140 colleges across the country, with nine in Texas, and three in North Texas. Amazon currently has 70,000 employees in the Lone Star state.

On Thursday, Amazon announced they had expanded the number of colleges where it has established a relationship for its employees. The largest online retailer in the U.S. plans to spend $1.2 billion to provide free tuition benefits to more than 300,000 employees by 2025. According to Dallas Morning News, the Texas schools included in the plan are; University of Texas at Dallas, Tarrant County Community College, University of North Texas, Texas State University, Lonestar College, Alamo College, Austin Community College, Dallas College and Houston Community College.

Amazon isn’t the only major company offering college tuition benefits, as Walmart, Taco Bell and Disney Co. have similar programs as well. With 37,000 Amazon employees in DFW, this should help many further their education. Soon some parents may even be forcing their kids to get a job at Amazon.
