If learning a new instrument was easy, everyone would do it. However there are some songs most can play even without expert level knowledge of the instrument. Just about everyone who has picked up a guitar has figured out how to sound like they are playing ‘Smoke on the Water’ even if they aren’t playing it exactly the way Deep Purple did. However, one musician recently went viral for going the other way, taking a song everyone knows and turning it into the “hardest song in the world.”
Musician Charles Berthoud has gained a following online thanks to his videos performing bass covers of some of the most iconic songs. While he has gone viral in the past, his latest video may be his most impressive yet. In the latest video, Berthoud transforms the Bee Gees’ song ‘Stayin’ Alive,’ complete with plenty of funky bass lines.

“I turned Stayin’ Alive into the hardest song in the world!” Berthoud captioned the video that has since been viewed over 300,000 times. According to Laughing Squid, Berthoud previously shared covers of Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat It’ and AC/DC’s ‘Back in Black’ as well. Maybe one day he will find a way to make a song easier for all the novices out there.
