The historic Battleship Texas, which served in both WWI and WWII, has returned to the waters and is floating in Galveston following an extensive 18-month dry dock repair.
Per Click2Houston, for the past year-and a half, the 122-year-old ship has undergone extensive repairs, including the replacement of over 700 tons of steel, a complete painting the hull, and numerous quality control checks.
Over the next 18-24 months, further repair efforts will be focused on deck replacement, superstructure, and interiors.
