For many people, it has been quite some time since they’ve been to a live music concert. While that has been difficult for many fans, it has been equally as hard for musicians, who hope to get back to performing live again soon. Now, some artists are beginning to make their way back to the stage, as over the weekend Green Day performed live for the first time in almost a year.
Easing their way back into performing live, Green Day performed a career-spanning three song set at the NFL Honors event during Super Bowl Weekend. The group played ‘Holiday’, ‘Basket Case’ and ‘Still Breathing’ outside the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, according to NME. While there were no fans in attendance, the performance featured plenty of pyrotechnics, and clips from the NFL season.
Fans were hoping to get to see the band soon, but it seems they will have to wait for the band’s delayed Hella Mega Tour with Weezer and Fall Out Boy, now set to begin in June 2021. Luckily, Green Day had this set to get themselves ready to get back on the road. Just like fans, the band is clearly ready to get back to concerts.
