Cooper Flagg is quickly establishing himself as one of the NBA’s future dominant forces.  Thank goodness he’s on our team.

Recently, the jersey worn by Flagg during his NBA debut against the San Antonio Spurs went up for auction by Sotheby’s, where it went for a record-setting amount.

Per ESPN, the jersey sold for $1 million, a record for a Flagg collectible and a record for a jersey sold through NBA Auctions.

Brahm Wachter, Sotheby's head of modern collectibles, said in a statement, “The $1 million result for Cooper Flagg's rookie debut jersey is a powerful testament to the significance collectors place on true 'first moments' in sport.

"This jersey captures the very beginning of a special career, one carrying huge expectations and excitement.”

The previous record for a jersey sold through NBA Auctions was last year’s No. 1 draft pick Victor Wembanyama, which he wore in the second half of his NBA debut.

That sold for $762,000 in November 2023.
