For years, a Dallas to Houston high speed rail has been discussed, but sadly every time a plan is made something gets in its way and stops the rail’s construction before it even starts. Now, with a government-backed Amtrak plan being discussed, rumors of the bullet train are back again. However, one North Texas transportation planner wants to use the technology for another path, creating a high speed rail between Dallas and Houston.

Many DFW residents travel throughout the metroplex daily, but a new plan being discussed could make their commute a lot faster and easier. Michael Morris, the Transportation Director with the North Central Texas Council of Governments claims he is working to see a proposed Dallas to Fort Worth leg built before the Dallas to Houston path. “Dallas Fort Worth goes first. Market it to the world as you’re building the section to Houston,” said Morris.

According to NBC DFW, the same technology envisioned for the Dallas to Houston high-speed rail has been planned to extend to Fort Worth for years as well. As for the current plan, Morris believes the Fort Worth leg could have environmental approval in 13 months. Hopefully this plan won’t go up in flames like all the others.
