Owners of two women's boutiques in North Texas are reeling from thousands of dollars worth of merchandise being stolen by a group of thieves.
Debbie Downs, the owner of My Secret Closet, a boutique along Preston Road in Far North Dallas, told NBC DFW, "I was going to move the dresses, and then I looked to where I was going to move them, and I thought: Well, they're not there.
"Then I watched the video, and I was just in shock. I couldn't even believe what I was seeing."
Video captured the group of four women, all apparently pretending to be pregnant, grabbing expensive items of clothing along with designer handbags, wrapping them up and stuffing them in their skirts before walking out.
Downs said, "They did over $4,000 worth of merchandise, mostly on new and a few on the resale side. We probably have more merchandise that's missing, and we won't know [until] toward the end of the season.
Not only that, the group of thieves also had with them a child in tow!
"Heartbreaking," said Downs. "Why do you have that child with you? Are you training her to take your footsteps in the future? I will never understand that. She was cute, a little bow in her hair and it's so wrong. So wrong. These women need to be stopped."
After Downs posted the video online, the owner of the Striped Box Boutique in Frisco contacted her saying that the group of women had robbed them just an hour after Downs.
Striped Box owner Melissa Mitchel said the group robbed about $1,600 worth of merchandise from her.
The Dallas and Frisco police departments are now working together on the investigation and are looking for any information on the identity of the thieves.
