The actions of Denzel Washington in the 2014 movie Flight who piloted a plane while intoxicated are probably best left to the silver screen.
A recent flight from Dallas to Japan had to be canceled after it was revealed the plane's pilot partied a little too hard the night before the flight, even into the wee hours of the morning of.
According to Business Insider, the 49-year-old captain "engaged in disruptive behavior while drunk at his hotel" in Dallas. Apparently, the pilot went out to dinner with his crew the night before, and the party continued well past 2am, at which point hotel staff requested that he keep the noise in his room down.
He didn't, and the police were called which prompted Japan Airlines to cancel the flight from Dallas.
Officials with Japan Airlines told the Japanese news site, The Manichi that the flight was canceled because officials "needed to check his physical and mental status, but could not find an alternate pilot for the 11:05 a.m. departure."
