Summer is in full swing, and for parents with children still not back to school yet, daily activities are still an absolute necessity. Luckily for parents in DFW, there is a new family friendly food park that recently opened in East Dallas. Shindig’s Food Park promises both fun for kids, adult beverages for parents, and plenty of food options for all.
Located at 3732 Samuell Blvd, where a Keller’s Hamburgers once stood, is now a half-acre food park with something for everyone. Shindig Food Park was created by hospitality industry veterans Terri and Kam De León with the idea of creating a place designed around family so everybody can have a good time. "Bring us your children, the entire soccer team and their families, where they can run around, enjoy a good time. We will never ask your children to sit down," said Kam De León.
According to Dallas Culture Map, the food park has one permanent vendor, Locura Bites, along with other rotating food trucks and small operators. While the food park is currently only open Tuesday through Sunday from 5-10 PM, they plan to extend hours in the fall. Once it cools down a bit, this new food park may become the family friendly place to be.
