Parents often complain that their children don’t spend enough time outdoors. Luckily that could soon change, as the city of Farmers Branch recently announced a new playground they promise is truly “one of a kind.” The new park, known as “Joya,” is expected to open this summer.
Farmers Branch recently unveiled the first renderings of their new playground they claim will be the “crown jewel of playgrounds.” The Joya, which means “jewel” in Spanish, is will be a glow-in-the-dark playground that will be fun for all both during the day and at night. According to WFAA, the park will include an 18,000-square-foot main playground and a 7,000-square-foot tot playground.

Some of the features at the playground include a 27-foot climbing sphere, swings and slides, an obstacle course and a zip line with interactive lights. Joya will be located at Oran Good Park near the intersection of Josey Lane and Valley View Lane. Hopefully once this playground opens in the summer, kids will no longer want to stay inside to play.
