The Foo Fighters returned to the stage this week, and gave fans an unexpected treat during the show. During their recent show at the Canyon Club outside of Los Angeles, the band performed a cover of Queen's 'Somebody to Love.' However for this song, singer Dave Grohl took over on drums while drummer Taylor Hawkins handled singing duties.
As seen in the fan shot video, Taylor Hawkins explains his song choice saying when he suggested the band cover a Queen song, most of the members thought they couldn't pull it off, while Grohl said "maybe we can." According to Yahoo, the song featured guitarists Pat Smear and Chris Shiflett doing their best Brian May impressions, along with an unexpected drum solo by Dave Grohl. The audience seemed to enjoy the performance just as much as the band did.
Many online said they hope to see more covers like this when Foo Fighters eventually hit the road. The show this week was a warm up for the band's upcoming show reopening Madison Square Garden. Hopefully that means another Queen cover is on the way.
