A former principal with Crowley ISD has been arrested and is facing charges of illegally selling weight-loss drugs to his staff while on the job.

Gerardo Moreno-Mendez was arrested on June 2, and a criminal complaint against him says he sold 'Tirzepatide,' a GLP-1 weekly weight loss drug to at least three people without a prescription as required by federal law.

Before his arrest, Moreno-Mendez accepted a job with Godley ISD to serve as principal of Godley Middle School for the upcoming 2026-27 school year, though upon his arrest the district requested and received his resignation.

Crowley ISD declined to give any comment to WFAA, saying it is unable to comment on personal matters involving former employees.
