Parents are often complaining their children never want to go outside and play. Luckily for some Fort Worth parents, their kids may now have a little extra motivation to take their play outdoors. A group of volunteers recently finished a new playground that was actually designed by kids.

The new playground at S.S. Dillow Elementary School is up and running thanks to more than 50 volunteers who helped bring the kids’ ideas to life. Kaboom, the group behind the initiative, wants to combat play space inequality with this new playground. “We know that if kids help to design the play space, they’re going to love playing on it," said Kathryn Lusk, the senior director of programs for Kaboom.

According to Fox 4 News, the playground will give more than 450 students access, including those with disabilities. The school will also be getting a covered garden for outdoor learning. With this new playground, staying inside and staring at a screen is no longer the only option.
