The Fort Worth Zoo is now the proud home of two African lion cubs who were born over the summer.
The male-female siblings were born to mother Saba and father Jabulani.
According to the zoo, the female is named Imara (ee-mah-rah), which is the Swahili word for “strength,” reflecting her spirited determination and steadfastness. The male is named Tamu (tah-moo), the Swahili word for “sweet,” which is symbolic for his gentle spirit.
The cubs have been kept out of the public eye the last few weeks but are now on full display at the zoo’s Predators of Asia & Africa habitat.
