Police officers never know what to expect when they’re called into action. We could have given the Irving Police Department a thousand guesses, and we guarantee they wouldn’t have predicted this.
Officers were called to search for a resident named “Kevin,” a blind and flightless pigeon who escaped from his owner’s business.
Evidently, the bird hopped into the truck bed of a customer while he was getting it inspected at the owner’s business.
Officers searched for the customer, with low aspirations they would find Kevin still there. Thankfully, officers were able to locate the bird, scooped him up, and placed him in the back of their patrol vehicle to deliver back to his owner.
Per WFAA, the owner told the officers upon Kevin’s return, “Thank you guys so much. It's like a child to me, thank you guys so much."
