The holiday season is very stressful.  Sometimes, we all just could use a nice, long hug from our grandmother.

In downtown McKinney, you can find the “Grandma Stand.”  First launched in New York City and now in North Texas, the Grandma Stand offers free wisdom, empathy, a kind ear that will listen to you, and a nice, long hug.

At the stand you’ll find 70-year-old McKinney resident Grandma Nancy, one of three grandmas rotating at the booth.  She told WFAA, “We're talking and listening.  You’re just getting it out.”

This is the first Grandma Stand in Texas, and the response it’s received we certainly believe it won’t be the lost.

You can find Grandma Nancy, and the other Grannies and the Grandma Stand on McKinney Main Street in Downtown McKinney.
