Wild animal sightings are a common occurrence throughout many DFW neighborhoods, but usually it's just squirrels, birds and the occasional bobcat. However, a neighborhood in McKinney has been getting a different breed of animal lately, and it's been causing quite a bit of destruction. The neighborhood has recently been taken over by a group of wild hogs, and now neighbors are afraid they may be getting too comfortable.
A trio of boards have been spotted multiple times roaming the streets of a McKinney neighborhood recently. While at first it was a welcome sight, now neighbors claim they are leaving a trail of destruction and getting too close for comfort, according to NBC DFW. "I had woken up in the morning, and they had torn up the yard there, gone through my flower beds, tore up some neighbors' yards over here and tore up some down the street," Fred Turner.
Now, neighbors are attempting to solve the problem on their own as the McKinney city staff is not equipped to trap feral hogs. "There's nothing you can do. Maybe an electric fence," said Turner. Hopefully this problem is resolved soon before more boars come and claim the neighborhood as their own.
