As many throughout DFW continue to struggle with power outages, home damage and cold temperatures, businesses throughout the metroplex have opened their doors to help. A number of warming shelters have opened throughout the area, and many are offering food services to help get people through the winter storm. Here is a list of all the locations offering services to people in need, according to Dallas Culture Map and Dallas Eater:

Warming Centers/Shelters

Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas – 650 S.
Griffin St, 24-hour intake, and families will be provided with chair and table.
Water, coffee, and snacks will be available.

Theatre Three, 2800 Routh St., #168 – open all weekend from 10am-6pm. Restrooms and outlets for charging are available

YMCA locations throughout Dallas – 10am-530pm, Water, coffee, wifi, charging stations, and hot showers will be provided.

The Salvation Army – McKinney, 600 Wilson Creek Pkwy, Emergency inclement weather shelter, open 6pm Friday and Saturday, last entry at 10pm

The Arlington Water Utilities South Service Center – 1100 S.W. Green Oaks Blvd, overnight emergency warming station, no meals or drinks provided

The Fort Worth Convention Center – 1201 Houston St., Overnight shelter, cots and restrooms available

Ruthe Jackson Center – 3113 S Carrier Pkwy, Grand Prairie. Overnight warming shelter, open until the power issues are solved or until there is relief in the weather. No sleeping bags or cots, and residents must provide their own transportation

Northwest Park Recreation Center – 2800 Cheyenne St, Irving.
Open 24 hours, charging stations and food available

Senter Park Recreation Center – 901 Senter Rd., Irving. Open 24 hours, charging stations and food available

Sent Church – 3701 W. Spring Creek, Plano, Operating daily from 10 am-6 pm. water, coffee, individually wrapped snacks, phone chargers, and coloring sheets for kids available

Islamic Association of Collin County – 6401 Independence Pkwy, 24 hour warming center

Newman Smith High School – 2335 N. Josey Ln, Carrolton, 24-hour warming center and overnight shelter

The Center – 108 E. Washington St, Rockwall, Warming station until the power comes back on. Visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket, pillow, or other comfort items.

The Chris W. Burkett Service Center – 620 S. Wisteria St., Mansfield, temporary warming area, charging stations available

Mansfield Activities Center – 106 S. Wisteria St, Mansfield, temporary warming area, charging stations available

Keller Public Library – 640 Johnson Rd, warming station

Central Junior High School – 3191 W. Pipeline Rd, Euless, warming station and shelter, visitors encouraged to bring their own sleeping bags, mats, blankets, and pillows

Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center – 1300 Wilson St, Denton, 24 hour warming station, Water, snacks, and sanitary items are available. Pets allowed and cots are provided.

Food

Staff Meal Dallas – Providing complimentary meals from local restaurants like Taco y Vino, Asian Mint, and more

Camp Rhonda – providing items like protein bars, snacks, and toiletries to those in need

Funky Town Fridge – Community feeding program operating three community fridges across Fort Worth, all three fridges available at any time

North Texas Food Bank – Massive food distribution network for local food pantries and other feeding organizations

Lucha Dallas – BIPOC-led organization handing out hot beverages, meals, and other supplies to unhoused people in Dallas

The Stewpot – Community feeding organization providing meals to unhoused people who are sheltering at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Downtown Dallas

Tarrant Area Food Bank – Massive food bank that serves residents of Fort Worth and other Tarrant County cities
