Earlier this year it was reported that the legendary DFW home once owned by Pantera founder Vinnie Paul was up for sale. While many fans were hoping to be the home's next owner, and continue the rock and roll lifestyle the house had seen for years, it was sold last week to an anonymous buyer who had different plans. The new owner decided to tear it down and start over, as the heavy metal landmark has now been demolished.
One of DFW's most recognizable homes is no more after being sold to new owners just a few weeks ago. News of Vinnie Paul's iconic Arlington home being demolished was shared by Derek "D-Rock" Walker, the promotional director for the Ride For Dime motorcycle event, on social media sending shockwaves through Pantera's network of fans. "Absolutely gut wrenching and heartbreaking. This is what remains of the monument that was Vinnie Paul's home in Arlington, Texas. This was not only a heavy metal landmark, but a staple in Pantera's rock and roll legacy," Walker said in his now viral post.
According to Consequence, the property was sold to private investors to be leveled for a new build. As for the previous home, it is famous in the area for hosting the Dallas Stars for a party after they won the 1999 Stanley Cup. While the house is gone, the memories will remain forever.
