The Riviera Independent School District in South Texas issued a warning before a game yesterday over an “increased presence of rattlesnakes.” Fans at the Riviera Kaufer High School and Corpus Christi John Paul II on Thursday, August 27 in the Texas Coastal Bend were told to “please use extra caution” while attending the game.
The district posted a message on social media that read, “For everyone’s safety, please do not allow children to play in the long jump area of the football field or underneath the stadium seating. Please stay alert, supervise children closely, and avoid areas that are not designated for spectators. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!"
No rattlesnake incidents were reported, though it could be said John Paul II was ratted on the field as they ended up losing to Kaufer 41-8.
