Houston, home of the Astros, the Johnson Space Center, and apparently a TON of roaches.
In a new study from Pest Gnome, H-Town ranked as the most roach-infested city in the nation, with the data showing 37% of homes in the city showing signs of cockroaches being present over the past 12 months.
According to The Messenger, the two most common types of roaches encountered in the city were palmetto bugs and the German cockroach which is known to fester around kitchens, pantry and near sinks.
The report says that the high heat and humidity are the cause of the infestation in Houston. Ranked No. 2 on the list, another Texas city in San Antonio. Tampa, Phoenix and Las Vegas round out the top five.
Dallas ranked at No. 9.
