Back in the day, one of the biggest fears a student had was forgetting to return a book to the library. However, in recent years that has become less of an issue, as most students turn to the internet for information as opposed to books. Still, one person recently decided to do the right thing and return a book they had that belonged to a library in Idaho. Only problem was the book was checked out 110 years ago.

The Boise Public Library went viral recently after sharing a story about a book that was returned after 110 years. According to Fox News, the book in question was ‘New Chronicles of Rebecca’ by Kate Douglas Wiggin, which was published in 1907 and tells the story of Rebecca Rowena Randall, who grew up in rural Maine. It is unknown who returned the book, or how they came in possession of it, but the library was happy to see it returned.

Many online wondered how much the fine would be for the late book. “With a fine of two cents per day for 111 years, whoever checked out this book would owe $803--thank goodness the Boise Public Libraries are now fine free!" said the library. Hopefully the next book they check out is returned on time.
