Based on all of the empty promises, it does not look like we will be getting that high-speed railway that connects DFW to Austin any time soon.
We are getting the next best thing (seemingly) though!
The luxury bus service Vonlane announced they would be adding a new route between Plano and Austin, beginning at the Renaissance Dallas hotel in Legacy West and terminating at the DoubleTree by Hilton near Austin’s Arboretum shopping center.
Per Community Impact, Vonlane CEO Alex Danza likens his buses to “a private jet on wheels,” with each featuring reclining seats, free Wi-Fi, and refreshments provided by on-board attendants.
During a presentation to Plano city council members, Danza revealed that a route connecting Plano to Houston is next on the agenda.
“We haven’t started looking at Plano [to] Houston yet, but it’s a natural next thing to do,” he said.
