Last week, police in Bradenton, FL took a man into custody who allegedly scammed an elderly woman in Texas out of more than $250,000 by pretending to be Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

According to WESH, 56-year-old Jeffrey Arthur Moynihan Jr. encouraged the 74-year-old woman to invest in his business, promising $55 million in return.

Financial records show that the victim transferred $250,000 to bank accounts owned by Moynihan and his business, Jeff's Painting and Pressure Washing, LLC.  However, the victim's husband is claiming that the woman transferred as much as $600,000 to Moynihan.

Officers arrested Moynihan at his home and will be investigated further.
