There is a new world taco-eating champion.
We had no idea such a contest as the World Taco Eating Championship existed, or that it was even held in San Antonio a couple of weekends back.
But several competitors gathered at a Taco Cabana to vie for the title, and a man named Geoff Esper came out on top.
He ate an impressive 51 bean and cheese tacos from Taco Cabana in just eight minutes to not only win the title but set a Guinness World Record to boot!
According to Chron, Esper has competed and won other eating competitions around Texas, including eating 32.25 four ounce outlaw egg rolls in eight minutes in 2022 in Lubbock, and in eating 9.75 pounds of SPAM straight from the can in eight minutes during the Spamarama competition at Austin's Circuit of the Americas in 2021.
This is the first World Taco Eating Championship for Taco Cabana, and we certainly hope it won’t be the last. Next year, please remember to give us a call!
