Later this month, the city of Frisco will break ground on a park spanning over 1,000 acres that will be bigger than even Central Park in New York.
According to Secret Dallas, the park will span from the Dallas North Tollway all the way to Lake Lewisville, and unlike a traditional park will put an emphasis on “inclusive urbanism and universal design.”
The park will be divided into five districts:
1 - Civic Park: 69-acre region including an event lawn, performance stage, and pond.
2 - Adventure Play: 39-acre, play-for-all area featuring a gateway pavilion, playgrounds, and great lawn.
3 - The Botanic Garden: 78-acres natural area hosting multiple gardens and floral pathways.
4 - The Sports Park: 46 acres of sports fields, courts, and parks. Planned features include a baseball field, pickleball courts, skate park, disc golf course, and more.
5 - The Nature Center: 37-acre, preservation-focused district.
Frisco is scheduled to break ground on Phase 1 of the park April 27, 2026. There is no official date of completion, but early estimates have the park being fully operational between 2030-2032.
