Just days before Christmas, Markie Smith of Azle gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
Though she knew her newborn would be a boy, delivering him was still a massive surprise, just because of how big he was.
Smith told WFAA, "Everybody, the whole room, just was like, 'Oh my God,'
"They pulled the curtain down, and he was just massive."
Smith's son was born weighing 12 pounds, 10 and a half ounces, nearly 13 pounds! Smith says that Nurses and family members gasped as they caught their first look.
Smith already picked out a name for her son, and his size makes it all the more fitting: Canyon.
And after seeing his size, that name quickly evolved into a nickname the family says fits perfectly: Grand Canyon.
We have to imagine college scouts are already scheduling visits for young Grand Canyon!
