Well that dream is about to come true for one lucky person, though it won't just be $1 million entering their bank account; it will be $500 million. The Mega Millions jackpot officially topped $500 million this week after no winners were picked on Friday's draw.
On Tuesday, the Mega Millions Jackpot will draw numbers for a prize of approximately $530 million. According to CBS DFW, the winnings would be the eighth largest on record. If a winner is selected on Tuesday, they will be able to choose between annual payments or claimed as a one-time lump sum of $307.4 million.
If no winner is selected on Tuesday, the pot could grow even larger. The highest amount ever won was $1.537 billion, back in 2018. While this prize isn't quite there yet, it still would be quite the life change for the winner.
