There have been a number of big name actors to take on the role of Batman over the years. However, the debate over whom the greatest caped crusader usually comes down to either Christian Bale or Michael Keaton. Fans of Keaton's Batman were handed a victory recently when it was revealed the actor would return to the role permanently for the DCEU, but now those rumors are once again being shut down.

Last year, it was announced that Michael Keaton would return to the Batman role for the upcoming movie, 'The Flash.' However, a recent article made it seem as if Keaton would replace Ben Affleck, the most recent Batman, as the DC Extended Universe's Batman moving forward. Now, the author of the article has made a statement clarifying his comments.

"Been offline (moving apartments) and return to see this Michael Keaton craziness. I was referring to the *one film* that Keaton has been announced as being in, not a set of his own Batman films. If I had info on him beyond 'The Flash," I would have obviously put it in my article," Brooks Barnes wrote on Twitter after seeing the reaction. Luckily for Robert Pattinson, the next Batman, Michael Keaton will only be returning for one film, for now.
