With the mayor of Fort Worth currently pursuing more film and television work for the city, it appears another Tarrant County city is looking to get into the movie industry. It was recently announced that the Mansfield City Council approved a resolution to develop a film studio in the city. The film studio could bring more than 2,000 jobs to one of the fast-growing cities in Texas.

On Monday, the city of Mansfield took the first steps towards developing a new film studio in the city. According to NBC DFW, the project will cost $70,000 and include studios, a sound stage, a hotel, and retail space.
The mixed-use development will be a collaboration between The Super Studios Mansfield LLC and the city.

The first phase of the project will be the sound-stage clusters, which will provide services for medium to large-scale productions. Each phase is expected to take six months to a year to complete. Soon, people may be calling Mansfield “Little Hollywood.”
