An Azle woman led police on a chase through Fort Worth last night after stealing a van around 7pm last night from John Peter Smith Hospital.
The woman soon found out though that the van she stole was already occupied.
Unknowingly, 36-year-old Valerie Traglor-Ellis stole a mortuary transport vehicle, which had a corpse resting inside of it.
Authorities found the van about two miles away from the hospital, and apprehended Traglor-Ellis a short time after. Police are still unclear why she stole the van.
According to NBC DFW, Traglor-Ellis is facing charges of auto theft and abuse of a corpse. The vehicle and the deceased person being transported were released to the driver of the mortuary service.
