There have been many reboots of classic movies and television series made in recent years, but while that may seem like a new strategy in Hollywood, it’s something the horror genre has been using for years. Now, a beloved series from the 60’s with ties to the horror genre is being brought back, and is being led by someone with plenty of reboot experience. Rob Zombie recently announced he is working on a reboot of ‘The Munsters’ and fans can’t wait to see what he does with the franchise.
The heavy-metal musician turned director recently announced plans for his next film. According to his now viral post in Instagram, Zombie will be working on a reboot of ‘The Munsters.’ “Attention Boils and Ghouls! The rumors are true! My next film project will be the one I’ve been chasing for 20 years! THE MUNSTERS! Stay tuned for exciting details as things progress!” said Zombie.
Zombie’s fandom of ‘The Munsters’ has been known for years, as his song ‘Dragula’ was named after the Munsters’ car, according to Variety. Not much is known about the project, but it will likely go directly to streaming when it is eventually released. For fans of ‘The Munsters,’ this may be the best reboot news yet.
