In the early months of 2020, the nation became obsessed with the Leaning Tower of Dallas, an 11-story building just off 75 that refused to be demolished properly.
The building's demolition was eventually complete, and now the lot remains empty.
However, that won't be the case for long.
De La Vega Capital Development is the developer behind the project to turn The Central, as the site is being called, into an area in Dallas that can compete with Uptown and "revitalize the East Village community."
According to WFAA, the four-acre site will be anchored by a pedestrian-friendly park and will also feature four ground-floor restaurants and multifamily residences above them. Later phases of the project will also include office towers, more multifamily, retail and a hotel.
Annmarie De La Vega, executive vice president and chief brand officer of De La Vega Capital Development said, "We're excited to see the domino effect and all the development down Haskell and East Village."
