Posts on social media can often send people into hysterics, we’ve seen it all the time.  However, we’ve never seen the kind of response we’ve seen with this.

People were sent into an uproar over the weekend after several social media posts went viral claiming that Dr Pepper was being discontinued!

You can especially see why in Texas people would be so appalled at this news.

Well, ease your Dr Pepper-loving souls.  The drink has NO plans on being discontinued any time soon.

A spokesperson confirmed as such in a statement per WFAA.  “A leading U.S. soft drink, Dr Pepper is over 100 years old with no plans for retirement, and rumors suggesting otherwise are false,” the spokesperson said.

The drink even confirmed the statement with its own post on social media.

Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time rumors of Dr Pepper’s demise have flooded the internet.

In 2016, claims were made that Coca-Cola was buying the rights to Dr Pepper and discontinuing its production.  Those also turned out to be false.
