For many Texans, a trip to the State Fair of Texas is the highlight of their year. Of course, despite being open for three weeks, many are only able to experience all the fair has to offer in one day. Luckily, those that hope to spend more time at the fair will have the chance to this year, although it won’t be all fun and games. The State Fair of Texas recently announced they are hiring thousands of seasonal positions for this year’s fair.
There will be more than 7,000 seasonal jobs at the state fair this year, with 2,200 people employed directly by the State Fair of Texas. Now, the fair is looking to start filling these positions as applications are now available online for multiple departments. According to NBC DFW, the fair is hiring for coupon sales, creative arts, games, gates, guest services, livestock, maintenance, and plumbing.
Wages start at $15.21/hour, which is 19-percent more than last year’s $12.38. The fair has even partnered with local organizations to open computer facilities for people to have access to internet to apply. For those that love the State Fair of Texas, this job opportunity may be a dream come true.
