The State Fair of Texas is going to be here before we know it.
Each and every year, we somehow trick ourselves into thinking the food cannot possibly get better. How many of us thought we reached peak culinary creation with the Funnel Cake Bacon Queso Burger?
Alas, it seems that not everyone in the United States recognizes that Fair Park is the epicenter of deep-fried glory, as a new study by Yelp ranked the State Fair of Texas as just the sixth in the nation of Top Ten State Fair for Festival Foods.
Assuming every state has a fair, sixth still isn’t bad, but as much pride as we take in a simple corn dog, you can’t help but feel insulted that our fair didn’t rank number one.
The top ten State Fairs for festival foods included:
1 – Minnesota
2 – Wisconsin
3 – Iowa
4 – New York
5 – Indiana
6 – Texas
7 – The Big E (A combination of six states in New England combining into one fair)
8 – Florida
9 – Alaska
10 – North Carolina
