Study ranks DFW the least affordable region in Texas

The study was based on the federal Cost of Living Index

There are many benefits to living in DFW. However, despite all the positives a new study recently revealed it can be quite costly living in the metroplex. The study found that DFW was the least affordable region in all of Texas.

EverythingLubbock.com recently conducted a study to find the most expensive regions in Texas. Using the federal Cost of Living Index, which is developed and published by the Council for Community and Economic Research, the website was able to determine that DFW was by far the most expensive region. According to NBC DFW, the metroplex led as the most expensive in six different categories; housing, groceries, utilities, transportation, health care and miscellaneous.

Overall, DFW had an official Cost of Living Index score of 99.35. Luckily, that is still less than the national average, which is 100. Even with a high cost of living, many in DFW would agree living here is the best option.
