Who else struggles with the notion waking up every day to go to a job that pays you too little while working you to the bone?

It’s an epidemic all across the state, as evident in a new study from Lensa, a group of HR specialists, career counselors, and tech enthusiasts, who found that Texas ranks No. 1 in the nation for highest risk of its workers burning out.

According to Click2Houston, the study group analyzed working hours, annual salaries, commute times, and Google searches for the term “burnout” to determine which state is experiencing the highest levels of workplace stress.

Texas earned a burnout score of 7.3 out of 10, the highest among the 24 states analyzed.

Florida and Louisiana tied for second, with a burnout score of 7.1, followed by Tennessee (6.8), and South Carolina (6.5) to round out the top five.

The least burned-out state analyzed? Missouri, with a score of 5.1.
