Everyone loves a Southern accent, y’all.
A new survey conducted by Preply says that the Southern accent is considered the most attractive in the U.S., and that Texas has the second most attractive accent among all states, following only Louisiana.
Per WFAA, one respondent of the survey said of the Southern accent, “find a Southern drawl attractive because it sounds warm, unhurried, and genuinely friendly.” Another added that the accent “seemed to flow like a creek over smooth rocks.”
The survey also ranked Texas 5th (as a region) for most attractive accent, and that “y’all” is not just part of southern lingo anymore.
More than half of Americans use “y’all” in their daily speech.
