Last year, Tesla went viral thanks to the massive “Giga-fest” they threw in Germany to celebrate the completion of their Berlin Gigafactory. However, with another Gigafactory currently being built in Austin, Elon Musk knew he had to throw an event that matches the “everything is bigger in Texas” motto. Musk recently took to Twitter to announce yet another Giga-fest and many are claiming it could end up being the largest BBQ in Texas history.
Over the weekend, Elon Musk responded to a tweet from a fan asking about production of the upcoming Model y at the new Texas Gigafactory. When asked if they “have a date for the GigaFest yet” the billionaire responded, saying “April 1st” before correcting himself by tweeting “Actually, April 7th.” Musk first teased throwing a massive BBQ for the event back in October, but now has set a date for fans to experience it.

According to Teslarati, deliveries of the new vehicle from the Texas factory are expected to begin soon, though no official date has been announced. Still, many Tesla enthusiasts are excited to see what the Texas Gigafactory has to offer. With the size of this event, Musk is clearly learning what it means to be a Texan.
