The future safety of students in Texas may not come from the ground, but the sky.
Campus Guardian Angel, an Austin-based tech company, displayed their drones at Lancaster Middle School this week that can soar through hallways at 100 mph to help aid and protect students in case of an emergency.
According to the Dallas Observer, the drones aren't armed with firearms, but can launch pepper spray bombs that would, in theory, incapacitate any threat.
Justin Marston, CEO of Campus Guardian Angel, has tested the drones in schools in schools in Waco, Boerne and Miami, but he would like to see every school in Texas budget for the tech.
He says his team has the capabilities to keep every Lone Star student protected and eventually could scale to every school in the nation.
