When it was announced last year that Phil Collins had donated a large collection of artifacts to The Alamo, the first thing many fans did was search the internet to see if there was a different Phil Collins popular in the world of Texas history. Of course, most were stunned to find out the musician was an avid collector of historical artifacts from The Alamo, and he was finally ready for the world to see his pieces. Now, the Alamo announced a preview of the Phil Collins collection will be on display starting March 2.
With Texas Independence Day coming up, The Alamo announced two new exhibits going on display when admissions to the historical landmark are free for the holiday. According to KSAT, a preview of the Phil Collins collection “Supplies For War” will be at the Exhibit Hall and an opening of the “Alamo Archaeology” exhibit will be located inside the Long Barrack. As for the Collins collection, the pieces will remain on display through April 24.

“With our plans for even more immersive exhibits, including an interpretation of the south gate in Alamo Plaza, a visit to The Alamo is quickly becoming a much deeper, narrative-rich experience that it has ever been before,” said Kate Rogers, executive director of The Alamo Trust, Inc. Soon Texans will be saying “remember The Alamo and Phil Collins.”
